E-MetroTel was founded in 2009 by Ardavan Nawaby as a services and consulting company. In 2010 Seve Pallen, Chris Edwards, Misha Vodsedalek, Patrick Perkins & Viviana Mcnamee joined the E-MetroTel team. UCX product devlopement started in 2010 with arrival of the new team members. UCX 1.0 as pure SIP solution was released to the market in late 2011. E-MetroTel, the NewNortel experienced professionals are the genesis of the company. Many of the company's employees are
former Avaya/Nortel employees with deep topical knowledge of enterprise products & services. The technical leadership are recognized as leaders in the field of telephony applications communications. USPTO most recently granted E-MetroTel a patent enabling secure Digital communication over SIP to both Cloud base and on-premises implementations

Ardavan Nawaby: President & CEO
Under Ardavan's leadership, E-MetroTel has matured from a concept to a profitable Unified Communications / VoIP company. Active in the field of PBX, IP-PBX and Services for more than 26 years, Ardavan has specialized in high technology, telecommunications and manufacturing business solutions. His successes range from establishing unique product offerings coupled with marketing and distribution strategies for market entry. Prior to founding E-MetroTel, Ardavan worked at Nortel Networks over 21 years in various functions: R&D, Product Management, Marketing and Business Development. During this time, Ardavan had the opportunity to serve in Canada, Ireland, UK & US. He holds a Bachelors of Applied Science, Electrical Engineering from the University of Ottawa.
Jeff Pickering: Board member, Director
Jeff Pickering is a Certified Public Accountant focusing on Corporate and Individual taxation. Established in 1995 in Plano, Texas, Jeff Pickering CPA has a client base comprising of businesses as well as individuals spanning all 50 states, including Western Europe and India. His technology clients included 3 Dallas Top 100 award winners recognized as the fastest growing, privately held companies in the Dallas area. Jeff was authorized to practice by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy to in 1992 and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Tax Section as well as the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. He holds an MS in Accounting, Taxation Specialty from the University of North Texas.
Steve Pallen: Applications and R&D Leader
Steve is responsible for Infinity one applications and leads the research and development team for the UCX portfolio. Prior to joining E-MetroTel, Steve was Agile Communications Environment Core leader at Avaya and Nortel Networks where he lead a multi layered team and over forty software developers to deliver the first release of ACE product. Steve started his career with Nortel in software development, developed the Meridian 1 Option 11 PBX platform, culminating with the position on Enterprise architect for the Communication Server 1000 IP-PBX. Steve also spent 5 years with AT&T Wireless, holding software and project manager roles for the fixed wireless local telephone solution. Steve holds a Bachelors of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
Chris Edwards: Business Development, Vertical Solutions & Sales
Chris is responsible for driving the business with customers and partners. Prior to this postion he lead the product & corporate marketing activities. Before joining E-MetroTel, Chris worked at Macrosoft Inc. as a Program Manager where he managed US sales and business development opportunities. Prior to Macrosoft, Chris had a long career spanning 28 years with Nortel Networks in Engineering, Product Management and Marketing, his last role as Sr. Manager of Business Intelligence for the Enterprise Group. Chris holds a Bachelors of Arts, Mathematics from University of Waterloo and an Electronic Engineering Technology Diploma from Loyalist College.
Mauricio Cvjetkovic: Product Management, Operations and International sales
Mauricio is responsible for product managment and driving the business with International channels and associated entities. Prior to joining E-MetroTel, Mauricio worked at Avaya and Nortel for over 18 years, occupying roles in Product Managment, Proposal Manager, Sales Engineer, Professional Services, Sales and Marketing. Mauricio has many years of experience in driving and devloping Global Accounts, dealers, resellers, and Telco Channels. Mauricio holds a Bachelors of Science and a Bachelors Electrical Civil Engineer from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Julia Piggott: Global Channel Readiness
Julia is responsible for overall global channel programs and commercial activities. Prior to E-MetroTel, Julia held positions at Nortel Networks including product development, launching Nortel’s internal corporate networks, operations, marketing, global Accounts and channels for North American Distribution. Following her 30 year at Nortel, Julia led the Toronto sales and technical team at Primus Telecommunications, charged with penetration of Hosted Voice, Virtual Storage, Data Center as well as traditional carrier connectivity to Ontario customers. Julia holds an Honours Computer Science and Math degree from McMaster University in Ontario. She also holds an Associate of the Royal College of Teachers degree in Music.

Steve is responsible for design of E-MetroTel's hardware. He has over 30 years of experience with telecommunications products, having worked as a designer and system architect for Avaya's IP Office and Nortel's Norstar and BCM products. Before that, Steve worked at Nortel and Bell-Northern Research for 27 years. He architected, managed, and worked on the firmware and hardware of multiple incarnations of the BCM and Norstar product portfolios. Steve is named on 10 patents, he co-authored the isochronous transport portion of the original USB specification, and he holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from Queen's University at Kingston.
